Welcome to Tunebit Classroom!

In this minitaurized version of Tunebit, children can make basic tunes by tapping on the boxes. This tool is made elementary school students so they can learn the basics of making music using software.

All that is needed is a mouse or a touch screen. The app functions on mobile devices or computers.

How do students use Tunebit Classroom?

They can open the editor and start fresh by clicking "Start" on the title screen. The student can tap on a box to place a note, or tap on it again to remove it. The student can learn the concept of sharp notes using the "Step" button, which will make the note glow white when placed, indicating that it is sharp. They can also understand the functionality of a tempo by changing the speed of their tune. Since there are 8 screens, each screen being a 14x7 grid for notes, the student can place up to 784 notes in one tune. The student then can download their tune to the device and share it with other classes, or save it for later if they want to edit it at another time. Note, the tempo and pitch do not save with the music, that will have to be adjusted after the tune is loaded.

Do students need experience with music to use the tool?

No, students can enjoy a hands-on experience with making simple songs. They can learn some of the parts of music without realizing it. Students can get their hands onto buttons and discover multiple possibilities and uses within the tool.

What can students learn by using this tool?

Students can learn tempo, pitch, and sharp/natural notes. They can also teach themselves how to use different kinds of software by learning how to make things happen on the screen when they do something.

What grade do students have to be in to use this tool?

Tunebit Classroom is designed around 3rd grade all the way to 6th grade students. Students don't need to work too hard to know what they are doing, the students can simply do it and learn it.

What kind of devices are needed to use Tunebit Classroom?

Any device with a speaker and a browser can be used, but a laptop is most recommended. Since most laptops designed for schools have a touch screen built in, students can use either the touchpad or the touch screen to use the app, and some tablets (such as iPads or Android tablets) have issues opening the tool, a laptop can simply download the tool and open it immediately.
