Phil's School Pocket

For 2 days straight and no sleep, I've been working on a new game: Phil's School Pocket. It's this game but on the original Gameboy. Yep, 4 color graphics, 8-bit horrendous sound, super crunched-up screen, lags over nothing, you get it, it's a Gameboy version of Phil's School. It will be a complete remaster, with code completely different from the original.

But I'll tell you my favorite bits of this game.

-Configurable controls

-The game being about 7 MB instead of about 60

I plan to make the game in under 10 megabytes (maybe 8 for the funnies), and still have basically the same game but in a different shell... from 1989. I know 7 MB is alot for a Gameboy game, but I'm NOT making and ACTUAL thing you can go to Gamestop and buy, I'm talking about what it would be like if Phil's School was made in 1989.

Another fun thing I should mention is the realisticness of an actual Gameboy's performance. I had like 4 NPC's on-screen at once while I was playtesting and the game ran slower than mollases, it was wicked. The game runs at about 60 FPS normally, but I was getting like 28 FPS or something, the sound was getting choppy and the video was going all wack.

I will soon post a short playtesting video thing on my Youtube channel so go check that out whenever I decide to upload it. But appart from that, I don't know what else to say. I will keep you guys posted on when I release this game or if I wanna show ya'll something crazy.

For now, enjoy this low-res PNG of 8-bit Phil :)
